FingerstyleGuitarLesson-6 Makes Your Fingers Think

BeginnerGuitarLesson-6 is one of the best video guitar lessons around.

This is the next in our series of free online guitar lessons. It continues to use the same easy guitar chords that we've been using. You'll also find another of our free video guitar lessons and acoustic guitar tab.

The right hand fingering used is thumb, 1st, 3rd, and 2nd fingers. Learning to use your 3rd finger is very important. Some things that just can't be played without it.

Here are some things to keep in mind as you play this exercise:

  • Brush your fingers across the strings. The fingers motion moves from the floor side of the string to the ceiling side of the string.
  • Use the left side of your fingertip as the finger points away from you.
  • Grab the full chord even if you're only playing a portion of it.
  • Try to get even volume from each string. One string shouldn't be louder than another.
  • Use proper right hand and left hand position.
  • Hold the guitar in the proper position

Take your time becoming familiar with the pattern in FingerstyleGuitarLesson-6. Taking the time now to build dexterity with your 3rd finger will pay off in the long run.

You will need a TEF viewer to see the music for this lesson. You can download it free here.
