Are You Running Out Of Time?

Welcome to this edition of The Fingerstyle Report!

Life's a funny thing. We all have dreams and aspirations when we're young. For many of us, those dreams and aspirations start to fade as we get older. We say to ourselves "if I only had time I'd...".

The next thing that we know, our hair has begun to turn gray, the face in the mirror is starting to show some wrinkles and our waist may have become a little bigger.

Too often we tell ourselves that life's responsibilities are keeping us from our goals. Goals like becoming a better player.

You know what? In a lot of instances, that's true. Adults do have a lot of responsibilities.

When it comes to improving our playing though, there are workarounds. The biggest workaround, in my opinion, is finding an approach to learning that is fun.

When practice is fun, rather than a drudgery, a person's more prone to do it. The more you do something, the better you get at it.

This workaround, or approach, may be a method that somebody else has put together or a routine that you've worked out for yourself.

I'll let you in on a little secret. I was a very frustrated, not very good fingerpicker until I had a "moment of clarity" when I was 40 years old.

That was when I realized that I had to learn the basic building blocks of harmony and how the fingerboard was laid out if I ever hoped to improve.

I did that using the approach that you'll find at learn-fingerstyle-guitar.com. Since then (17 years ago) it has been a steady progression to the point that my playing's at now. While I'm not totally where I want to be, I'm a heck of a lot closer to it than I was 17 years ago.

Take action now! Find an approach (workaround) that works for you! Don't run out of time when it comes to being the guitar player that you want to be.

We're Running Out Of Time!

My Indiegogo campaign is a little more than half over and I have a long way to go to reach my goal.

It also means that the opportunity for you to receive some neat premiums is more than half over. Your participation could enable you to get CDs, lessons, concerts and more.

Check it out!
