Current News And What's Coming Up

Welcome to this months edition of Fingerstyle Monthly. Instead of covering a musical topic this month, I thought that I would let you know what's coming up at learn-fingerstyle-guitar.com.

I started learn-fingerstyle-guitar.com as a way to share my interest in fingerstyle guitar. The longer that the site is in existence, the more that it evolves.

One way that it's evolving is in my desire to have it become more of a two way communication and less of me telling you what I think. The visitors to learn-fingerstyle-guitar.com come from all over the world. On average we have visitors from about 65 different countries each month. Some of these countries are familiar to me and some, to my embarassment, are not.

With the World Wide Web, of course, you expect to have visitors from around the world. What I'm curious to know is, who are the new players in countries like Tuvalu, Sweden and Singapore?

Are the visitors from India,Greece and Ireland listening to Blind Blake and Leo Kottke or are they using a fingerstyle approach to the music of their homeland?

To help make this type of information available to visitors of learn-fingerstyle-guitar.com, I've created The News. If there's a new CD being released, concert dates, club gigs or workshops -anything of interest to fingerstyle players- let us know about it

Contests And Lessons

While my mother thinks I'm a handsome guy, the rest of the world might not agree. So I'll be starting a contest to find a really cool looking guitar to go on my home page. When I get it all sorted out I'll put a button on the nav-bar so that visitors can find out how to enter and what the prices are.

I'm also in the process of preparing some free beginner lessons. I will be using a fingerstyle guitar tutorial as a study guide. You'll be able to buy the book and we'll work out of it, just like I do in my studio.

These lessons will be aimed at those who are just starting to get into fingerstyle guitar. When they're all filmed and ready, they'll be avaiable on the Free Lessons page. I'll also mention it in the newsletter.

That's all for this month. I can't let you go without checking this guy out, though.
