An Update And More

Welcome to this months edition of The Fingerstyle Monthly.

This month I just want to give an update of some things that are happening at learn-fingerstyle-guitar.com

The response to the Beginners Lesson Survey and the "regular" Lesson Survey has been great.

I've been a little surprised at what I've learned. For starters, the sheet music/video combo got 74% of the vote in the lesson format category.

As far as song type goes, requests for technique building exercises ran 41.9% and acoustic blues were at 29.1%.

These catagories were much larger than the 12.6% for jazz standards and 16.1% for pop songs.

I think that this is a pretty clear indicator of how lessons will be developed in the months to come.

You can look for a new series of beginner lessons in the near future. All of the music for the exercises is written. I still have to write some of the text and shoot videos.

The end of October is the planned completion date for these lessons.

The best way to be kept up-to-date is by subscribing to the LFSG Blog.

Just click on the orange RSS button and you'll be informed about any new additions to the site.

What Else?

That's pretty much what's going on around here. There is one last thing, though.

I feel very fortunate to be involved with a global community of fingerstyle guitarists. The comments and questions that I get from visitors have helped me in my own playing and teaching.

To show my appreciation I will make available 75 free copies of my ebook, How To Buy An Acoustic Guitar. It's been recently updated with new text and photos.

This offer will only be available for the first 75 copies or until 9pm CST on October 9. If you're curious about this book, I urge you to act quickly.

Well, that about wraps it up. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

See you next month!
