FingerstyleGuitarLessons-12 Is A Little Tricky

FingerstyleGuitarLessons-12 Is Another One Of Our Great Guitar Lessons For Beginners

The 12th of our free online guitar lessons continues the ideas presented in Lesson 11. This guitar online lesson uses the easy guitar chords of C, F, and G. They are clearly marked above the acoustic guitar tabs at the bottom of the page.

Under the tab you'll find a number or letter in a circle for each note. This lets you know which finger on your right hand to use to play the note.

Try this with your right hand:

  • Place your 1st finger on the 3rd string
  • Place your 2nd finger on the 2nd string
  • Place your 3rd finger on the 1st string

When it's time to play a note on one of the first 3 strings, your finger will already be on it. It also puts your hand in a good position to control how long the note sounds.

Some other things to consider in FingerstyleGuitarLesson-12 are:

  • Have equal volume with each note picked
  • Have consistent tempo. Try not to speed up or slow down
  • Grab the whole chord, even if you aren't playing all of the notes in it
  • Have proper right hand and left hand position.
  • Hold the guitar in the proper position
